To set the default behavior of the Replace Layer Style checkbox:

1. From the Options menu, select Preferences and select the Map Window option to display the Map Window Preferences dialog box.

2. Perform one of the following:

• Select the Draw Layers Under Themes checkbox to clear the Replace Layer Style checkbox by default.

• Clear the Draw Layers Under Themes checkbox to select the Replace Layer Style checkbox by default.

3. Click OK to save this preference. This option sets the default behavior for the Replace Layer Style checkbox in both the ranges and individual value theme dialog boxes.
