Error running client setup.
Question:
After installing MapMarker 4.3 Plus on a network server, running the Client/Server Toolkit and then trying to run the client Setup.exe on the server, it produces an error message stating: Setup has determined that the MapMarker server install is invalid. Please re-install. What causes this to happen ?
Answer:
Check to make sure the MapMarker.exe is still in the MapMarker directory on the server. Most likely, it doesn't exist. If the Client/Server Toolkit is run after installing MapMarker 4.3 Plus on a network server and then trying to run the client Setup.exe on the server, it can't find the MapMarker.exe. Running the Client/Server Toolkit erases the MapMarker.exe from the MapMarker directory. Don't run the Client/Server Toolkit after doing a network install unless it is desired to delete the MapMarker.exe because the API's/OCX'S will be used to run MapMarker inside a custom application. There is no need to run the Client/Server Toolkit when doing a network install. In the next release of MapMarker (4.4) there has been a change in the installation wizard so that as soon as the Client/Server Toolkit is run, it displays a warning message stating that doing so will erase the MapMarker.exe.
