Summary:
Installation error message: Setup has determined that the MapMarker Server install is invalid. Please reinstall...
Question:
After a full network installation, Setup.exe runs successfully on a server machine. However, when Setup is run on a client machine, the following error appears:

Why?
Answer:
1. One possibility is that the Client/Server Toolkit has been installed, which deletes the MAPMARKR.EXE after giving an appropriate warning; see this document -> .
2. The network drive may have been mapped to a subfolder (e.g. mapping the G: drive to \\ServerName\C\mapmarker\client\ instead of the actual drive on which MapMarker is installed, \\ServerName\C\ ) . When the installer builds a path where it expects to find MAPMARKR.EXE, it does not account for the above possibility, so it will fail to find the file and will throw the above error. The solution is simply to disconnect the network drive then map it to the root directory instead of a subfolder.
Incorrectly specifying a mapped network drive during installation can also cause trouble. In particular, an inability to find dictionary files when starting MapMarker. The same problem can be caused by creating a folder shortcut on the server (in order to be able to access a subfolder more quickly) and pointing the installer to a shortcut rather than the folder itself. See this document -> for details on other error messages.
