Question:
When starting MapMarker Plus v. 11.0 for the first time after installing, one or both of the following errors may be generated:
Error 1843 occurred in the MapMarker geocoding engine.
Error 2306 occurred in the MapMarker geocoding engine.
Unable to Launch Java Application
The System Preferences dialog then opens where changes to the dictionary path can be corrected. Even after entering the correct path, MapMarker still generates the same error.
What settings need to be changed to correct this problem?
Answer:
If the 1843 or 2306 error's are received when starting MapMarker, please perform the following steps to correct the data path.
1. Open the following file in Notepad and save the changes. MMUSALicenseProvider.config The file should be found in the MapMarker_USA folder.
2. Edit the value BETWEEN the license directory parameter brackets - <LicenseDirectory>EnterCorrectPathHere<LicenseDirectory>
Example for the default path:
<LicenseDirectory>C:/Program Files/MapInfo/MapMarker/MapMarker_USA/Data</LicenseDirectory>
**Note** Slashes "/" are Forward slashes.
3. Open the following file in Notepad and save the changes. USA_DataManagerSettings.properties The file should be found in the MapMarker_USA folder.
Edit the values for the DICTIONARY_PATH1 and MAP_MARKER_HOME. You may also have to edit the MapMarker_
Examples for the default location:
DICTIONARY_PATH1=C:/Program Files/MapInfo/MapMarker/MapMarker_USA/Data
MAP_MARKER_HOME=C:/Program Files/MapInfo/MapMarker/MapMarker_USA/Data
**Note** Slashes "/" are Forward slashes.
4. Choose Start>Run>Regedit.
5. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\mapinfo\mapmarker\11.0\System\DatabasePath
Enter the correct path where the data was installed. Here is an example for the default location:
Value=C:\Program Files\MapInfo\MapMarker\MapMarker_USA\Data
**Note** Slashes "\" are backward slashes for registry entries.
**Note**
The default paths listed for all steps may be slightly different with each version. For example, this is the default for v. 12.0:
C:\Program Files\MapInfo\MapMarker\MapMarker_USA_v12\Data
