Given zip codes, how can MapMarker be used to determine the city that zip code falls within.
Answer:
Open the table of zip codes in MapMarker. Select the options and click OK in the Add Columns Dialog.
Click Modify Columns in the Input Columns Dialog:
Click Add Column
Name: MyCity
Type: Character
Width: 30
Click OK
Click Yes to close, update and reopen the table.
Drag <Clear> to the City field (Since MyCity field is not an input column).
Drag the zip code column to the Zipcode field.
Click Next.
Click Yes to dismiss the no street level geocoding warning.
Drag MyCity to the City Field in the Output Column dialog.
Click Finish.
Select any additional options from the Geocode dialog.
Click Geocode.
The resulting table should have the MyCity column populated with the City of the corresponding zipcode.
