Summary:
Unable to View Active Pages Through Browser
Question:
When trying to access dynamic HAHTSite pages via the Internet, the error "404: Page not found." occurs. Static pages are displayed fine. What could be causing this?
Answer:
Two primary reasons this error could appear are a mis-configuration of the site itself or a mis-configuration of the HSRun. Most likely if it is possible to see static web pages then the web site itself is configured correctly and there is probably a configuration issue within the HAHTSite section of the site. To see more information on what could be causing the error use the following tip below:
If receiving a 404 not found or unable to view pages error, edit the URL in the browser's locator bar to just have http://machine-address/cgiAlias/hsrun.exe/ and hit enter. If hsrun can be located, a message similar to the following will display:
HAHTsite hsrun reports the following:
The supplied URL is incorrect. If the URL manually was entered manually, make sure it is correct. If the URL was generated by selecting an item on a previous page, the page may have an error in it. In this case, report this problem to the site webmaster along with the URL to the previous page and the item selected.
HAHTsite hsrun reports the following Error:
The URL does not contain a Server Group name.
Additional information:
If the message above does not appear, it will be necessary to compare the configuration of the cgialias in the Webserver admin tool to the "hsrun" entry for the site that is being used in HAHTsite webserver utility (wsutil.exe).
