Question:
User has a site and a layer of shopping center points.
He wishes to zoom to particular distance around the site and then run a report that returns all the shopping centers
in the map view, as well as the distance from each shopping center to the Site.
How can this be achieved?

Answer:
Assume the Shopping Centers layer has been imported and in layer control and visible in the desired map view.
The Shopping Center's are the red dots and the site is the blue X in the screenshot below:

First we need to create a new detail report in the configurator.
Go to configurator>reports>detail reports>new and name the new report.
At the drop-down for available report items, select the Shopping Centers (Retail Centers) layer referenced above.
In the box below, select drive time distance(or minutes) and or straight line distance ("as the crow flies") as well as
any other variable that would serve to identify each retail store in the resultant report - we chose Name, County FIPS, drivetime minutes, and straight line distance:

Now in the mapper, use "find new site" and enter the street address or lat/long coordinates to place the center site
where desired (or simply place the site manually).

Then run the report to return the retail stores and the distances, etc. from the central site.

If you entered an address to find the site, this address info will be found in the resultant Report:

If you created rings or drivetimes, etc. around the site, then the report will return those points found within the study area.
