Does MapXtend have the inherent capability to return the location of a client device?
Answer:
MapXtend does not have this capability. The location of the customer's client device can be obtained in two ways. Equip the cell phone or the palm pilot with a gps which can pinpoint the coordinate information. Alternatively, there are certain cell phone companies that can "triangulate" their customers. This is done by finding the area between three cell phone towers and estimating a position. This technology is currently being used in certain 911 emergency applications.
